最初以为five for fighting是一个乐团，可是实际上只有一个成员--john ondrasik. ondrasik认为自己只是歌手和作曲家， 可是实际上他也是吉他手和钢琴家. ondrasik在洛杉矶圣法兰多山谷地区长大， 他的母亲是钢琴教师， 因此在ondrasik两岁的时候就已经开始了音乐方面的培训. 13岁的时候ondrasik开始弹吉他并写歌. 97年ondrasik以five for fighting作为自己的艺名，发行了第一张专辑。
Five For Fighting 荣获Billboard 成人抒情榜
冠军并入围葛莱美奖最佳流行乐团，他们以家喻户晓的Superman带出了一方面希望自己无所不能却又无所适从的矛盾心理，在新专辑里，钢琴与人声浑然天成的和谐的统一，又兼具有抒情小品的词浅情深的创作神采。很喜欢主唱沙哑浑厚却中气十足的声线。
